Mission Statement
Our purpose is to provide all residents with impartial and inclusive access to a wide range of information resources, programs, and services in order to encourage literacy and lifelong learning and to support educational, cultural, and recreational activities.
Library Cards
Milltown Public Library cards are available free to anyone who lives or works in Milltown, NJ. To apply for a library card, please come into the library with a form of photo I.D. and something showing your Milltown address, such as a tax bill, utility bill, or lease, or a paystub.
Non-Residents who have library cards from libraries that are participating in the New Jersey Open Borrowing Program may use their card in the Milltown Public Library. For a list of participating libraries, please visit www.openborrowing.org.
Non-resident library cards are $50.00.
Fine Free Borrowing
The library does not charge fines for overdue books. We ask that patrons be courteous to other borrowers by returning materials on their due date so that there is no undue waiting. Library materials that are lost or damaged will be charged to patrons.
Open Borrowing
Milltown library card holders are able to place holds and borrow materials from any other STELLA member library, as well as any other libraries that are a part of the New Jersey Open Borrowing Program.

Requesting Materials
Materials that the Milltown Public Library owns can be placed on hold by Milltown patrons, and the library can request materials from other libraries in STELLA as well as from libraries throughout the state and country with JerseyCat. Please contact the library if you have any questions, or would like to request any material.
Limited Mobility Services
Milltown residents with a library card in good standing who have temporary or permanent limited mobility can arrange to have books and movies delivered to their home once a week. See more details here and download an application here.

Museum Passes
We currently have passes to the Monmouth Museum and the Battleship New Jersey Museum. Passes are for Milltown card holders in good standing. A $25.00 cash deposit is required. Curbside Pickup
If you prefer not to enter the library in order to pick up library materials, please call the library to ask for a curbside pickup. Materials will be checked out to you and place outside in a plastic bin. Call 732-247-2270 to arrange.
Public Computers
The library has public computers that provide internet access and Microsoft Office applications. Patrons may use computers on a first come/first served basis. If computers are in high demand, there will be 30 minute limit placed on use. Weekdays from 3 P.M. to 4 P.M. is designated as homework time for students and students are given preferential access to computers.
Printing from a computer costs $.15/page for B&W and $.50/page for color.

Meeting Room
The W. Jane Strimple Meeting Room is available for public uses that fit the criteria specified in the rules and regulations of the meeting room. View the rules and regulations or print an application for the meeting room.
Exhibit Space
If you are a local artist or represent an artist group, and would like to exhibit work in the W. Jane Strimple Meeting Room, please contact the library director at (732) 247-2270.
Notary Service
Notary is free to Milltown residents. Non-resident notary is $2.50. Please call (732) 247-2270 to make sure the Public Notary is available.
Tax Forms
Reproducible tax forms are available in the library year round, and forms and booklets are available during tax season while supplies last.
