Part-Time Library Page
Milltown Public Library is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Library Page. This position offers up to 6 hours per week and is perfect for someone who loves books, enjoys helping people, and wants to be part of a welcoming community space.
• Provide exceptional customer service with a positive and courteous attitude
• Shelve and organize books, DVDs, and other library materials in alphabetical and numerical order
• Assist patrons in locating materials and refer them to the appropriate staff as needed
• Help patrons with basic computer, internet, and audio/visual equipment use
• Locate and prepare library materials requested by patrons
• Assist staff by checking for damaged materials and removing them from shelves
• Help set up public spaces for events and programs
• Perform other related tasks as assigned
• Proper employment certificate for minors under 18 as required by New Jersey state law
• Ability to troubleshoot basic computer and printer issues
• Familiarity with eReaders and library technologies
• Accuracy and efficiency in sorting and arranging items in alphanumeric order
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse patronage and as part of a team
• Dependability, professionalism, and problem-solving skills
• Basic technology skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications)
• Location: Milltown Public Library
• Hours: Part-time, up to 6 hours per week, one evening per week and one Saturday per month
